Philosophy: After being present for the planned home births of my younger siblings and witnessing the benefits of midwifery care for my mother and our family, I decided at a very young age that I would become a midwife. As a midwife, I am deeply privileged to provide women and their families with respectful evidence-based care and individualized support through some of life’s most formative transitions. Pregnancy and birth, family planning, gynecologic visits and annual well-woman exams are all important times when women voice their concerns and make important decisions about their health. During those times, it is my role to help each women meet her personal goals, by listening and being a health resource. My favorite hours as a midwife are spent supporting women in labor, but I also especially enjoy providing postpartum support, discussing family planning options and teaching fertility awareness. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, knitting, and playing outside with friends and family.
