The world in which we live is moving faster and faster and our senses our bombarded, often from the moment we open our eyes in the morning to the moment we go to bed. Turning out the lights, hungry for sleep and perhaps a moment of peace or ease and we find our minds
racing with worry and running through our mental “to do” list.
By developing skills to notice where your thoughts go and what emotions and sensations are associated with them, you can become more mindful.
This understanding of how our minds work, helps you to recognize the different ways you can redirect your attention and how to respond to situations rather than react to them.
Mindfulness brings about an awareness of things in the routine of our everyday lives and helps increase our feeling of connectedness.
Our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course is an intensive 8-week course designed to help you cultivate and strengthen your own inner resources for healing, well-being and ease amid the challenges of your life. Whatever those challenges and demands may be,
the course can help you connect more deeply to what nourishes you in your life.
“I thought the workshop was excellent.”
“Well organized, great materials, a very nice program.”
“Better than any Christmas or birthday present. Like being given the keys to a kingdom that no one can take away.”
“Everything about the program was wonderful. I really liked sharing experiences with everyone.”
The course consists of 8 weekly classes, an all-day Saturday retreat and daily mindfulness homework practices. In class and through the homework, you will learn practical skills in mindfulness that allow you to deepen your capacity to pay attention, to be more present
and to learn how to work more effectively with the stressors and challenges in your life. The course requires a strong commitment to participation and engagement in the class over the 8 weeks.
The course is taught by
Dr. Ellen Flynn who is a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
The course is open to men and women.
The cost of the program is $350. Includes home practice CDs and a home practice workbook. For more information, payment options and upcoming program dates, call Gwen at 401-793-7817.
In case of inclement weather, please call Gwen at 401-793-7817 to confirm if class will be held.
