The Women's Medicine Collaborative announced that Lynn Pesta, MD, has joined the Women’s Medicine Collaborative Women’s Primary Care team. She began seeing patients on September 1.

Pesta received her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont.

“Dr. Pesta has a strong clinical interest in preventative medicine and is a passionate patient advocate. Her focus on engaging patients to prevent future health concerns aligns perfectly with our patient-centered medical home model,” said Iris Tong, MD, FACP, director of Women’s Primary Care at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative. “She is a terrific addition to our primary care team.”

Pesta is board eligible in internal medicine. Among her clinical interests are preventive medicine and cancer screening. In 2015, she received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, as well as the Richard E. Bouchard Primary Care Excellence Award from The University of Vermont.

“Disease prevention is a key component of good health care,” Pesta said, “whether advising a patient on lifestyle modifications best suited to their individual good health or suggesting a cancer screening to improve chances for early detection. The health and wellbeing of patients is paramount.”

Pesta’s office is located on the third floor of the Women’s Medicine Collaborative at 146 West River Street in Providence. She welcomes new patients. To schedule an appointment, call 401-793-7010.
